Third international cc:eGov Workshop

— filed under:

Transformational Approaches for eGovernment: Towards a Handbook for Change - A 'mid-summer' event for practitioners to work together, learn and change The 3rd citizen-centricity eGov Workshop (cc:eGov) to take place in Denmark on 21-22 June is the third in a series of four events that are aimed at serving as key drivers to the cc:eGov study project.

It is organised by the ECOTEC Research and Consulting Ltd and the Tavistock Institute on behalf of the Information Society and Media Directorate-General, European Commission. It is hosted by the Municipality of Aarhus, Department of Culture and Citizen Services.
The cc:eGov study was launched in June 2006 by the European Commission’s eGovernment Unit in DG Information Society and Media in order to better understand the organisational culture and citizen centricity in the EU and subsequently produce concrete conclusions and tools for policy makers and practitioners.
Building on the first two workshops that respectively took place in Warsaw (November 2006) and in Athens (February 2007), the Aarhus workshop will focus on working towards a Handbook for Citizen-Centric eGovernment through work on four core strands and enabling delegates to contribute and share their expertise.

    *
Strand A: Trust, transparency and openness. This strand focuses on 'people'.
    *
Strand B: Engagement. This strand focuses on 'processes'.
    *
Strand C: Flexibility and agility. This strand focuses on 'structures'.
    *
Strand D: Effectiveness. This strand focuses on 'rewards and benefits'.

Expected attendees are middle to top-level civil servants, local government chief executives, consultants working for government, eGovernment project leaders and those responsible for transforming government. Each delegate will work on one strand during the workshop, and will then have the opportunity to participate in feedback events with delegates working on other strands. This event is free to attend but places are limited.
