In preparation of the Kigali Conference we have been gathering information regarding legislation and policy documents dealing with Information Society and ICTs issues in Africa. The "Information Society Repository" is now available here

The documents are listed by country and within countries, documents are grouped  under the following headings:

• ICT Policy Frameworks
• Freedom of Information  (Access to Information and Freedom of Expression)
• Cyberspace: privacy, Data Protection, e-commerce and Crime
• ICT Regulatory Authority/Frameworks

The Information Society Repository has been in the context of the "Africa Parliamentary Information Exchange" (APEX) since it is expected that the updating of the information will now be done by the individual country.

The APEX is a tool to improve exchange of information between the national parliaments. It does so by providing a platform for the electronic exchange of information. Each parliament should feel responsible for updating the information regarding its own country.
